I have attempted abstracts only a few times in my career as a painter. First of all, I was curious to see if I could do it, having always been convinced that it was almost a joke and not hard at all. Well. Not true. To me, painting abstracts is like trying to talk in a foreign language. It is difficult to make a painting with great color, a focal point, and good composition without rendering some kind of subject matter. This was my third attempt and although an abstract, somehow I like it.
