Alex is the daughter of a good friend of mine I met in Paris when we first moved to Paris. At that time, Alex was 15 or so, a beautiful, tall, lanky teenager and I painted her many times those first few years. Later on as a young adult, she came to visit us in Atlanta and met a friend called Anna and the two of them became fast friends.
Painting portraits at the time, I was always looking for models to pose for me. And who could be better than these two. I frankly think that Anna’s face is one of the best faces I have ever painted.
