This is the scene that welcomes me every morning as I stand at the kitchen sink downstairs. The area was to be a walkway from different parts of the main house to the swimming pool and cuisine d’ete (or summer kitchen) cottage.
I designed the garden with a parterre (this one with gravel paths in the shape of an X within a square) and then added all kinds of plants that thrive here in Provence… thyme, lavender, rosemary, santolina, germander, iris, euphorbia, canthus, rose campion and lamb’s ear. And a few white roses thrown in.
I got to say, it is magnificent, as something is always blooming, and a plethora of herbs are at our finger tips.
