I must say I am partial to painting interiors. Makes sense, as two of my all-time favorite artists are Bonnard and Vuillard. I still get my jollies looking at their interiors. For one thing, they used such artistic license in their interpretation of the rooms and people they painted. Bonnard’s paintings of his wife Martha in the bath tub are perfect examples. And Vuillard’s paintings of his mother and cohorts sewing make my heart sing.
Also, living in France and being exposed to the French way of thinking about the pleasures of eating makes table scenes now one of my favorites.
