In our mas (farmhouse) we renovated two years ago, there was an old garage on the back (or north side) of the house. We demolished it down to its shell and built a much-needed laundry room, a small bedroom with its own bath, and a studio for me. The bedroom ended up right next to my studio and needed some light. So, we found and installed a wonderful old, very grand pine window (antique and a deal except for the fact it had at least four coats of paint on it that Don and I spent many an hour scraping off!) But it had its merit as I could open the window and, voila! subject matter for many an interior painting of tousled bedcovers.
