If you have ever lived in a big city, you know the value of being close to a city park. When we lived in Paris I use to jog to Parc Monceau in the eighth arrondissement. It was the goal just to get to the park. There is something about all that green which is healing for a city dweller.
My friend, Caline, has a fabulous apartment very close to Luxembourg Gardens and we used to walk there habitually. One time, probably in the nineties, I took numerous photos of the Parisians enjoying the sun… always a bit surprised how the formal French can just lie down in public to connect to the earth. I came across the photos recently. I love the couple kissing.
