Oil on board

My garden here in Provence is chocker block full of Irises. They are the common ones so prevalent in this area… called Bleu Clair by the French, light blue, but with a hint of lavender. And tall, very tall. Majestic really. I just adore them. We just finished their season here and I miss them sorely. When I look at any irises I think of Van Gogh. He could really do justice to them like no one else. This painting should be called “Salute to Van Gogh”. But then again, the viewer might compare and I wouldn’t want that. Enjoy.
