I’ve got a thing about trees. Maybe it’s because they take so long to be trees… tall and graceful, majestic years from now and throwing those necessary shadows that we so value here in Provence. I am getting ready to plant quite a few on our new property in Ansouis. Right now, that’s all I’m thinking about. Which kind, what color will they be in Autumn… nut throwing, bark peeling, big leaves, or small… my choice right now will determine our garden for years to come.
Maybe that’s why I am painting this Mystic series. Of course, I’m embellishing them. I’m an artist, right?
