As many of you know, Rosemary Verey was a famous English garden designer in the eighties and nineties. And I was an avid reader and collector of her many books published on gardening and her own personal garden. I learned a great deal from her.
When Don and I were living in Hampshire, England, through a relationship with Ryan Gainey, (famous himself in America, and Atlanta, in particular, for the many gardens he designed), I had the opportunity to visit her in Barnsley in the Cotswolds where she lived. And not only was I able to view her garden which I had read about on numerous occasions, but had the opportunity to paint her as she was in the midst of writing one of her many books.
