Strange name, n’est pas? But not really. This is the living room of Ryan Gainey, a famous garden designer in Atlanta, Georgia, who lived life to its fullest and designed many a garden, first in Atlanta and then gradually all over the world, especially in France.

I was fortunate enough to go to his remarkable garden to paint. And, indeed, took advantage of it to paint many of my early works there. Occasionally, I would set up inside his house, which was an artist’s delight, because of all the unusual things he used to decorate with… one of the most remarkable being his sitting room where he decorated his intensely blue walls with tobacco leaves. Wow. what subject matter for this artist.
