My love of beach scenes started the first time I went to a beach in France. It happened to be in Biarritz on a vacation with French friends that I witnessed my first beach with a multitude of umbrellas. I was hooked! Climbing up on a dune and looking down on several umbrellas dotted on a crowded beach , I painted my first one right there. Talk about having fun with color, I am forever creating new paintings with different colors combinations, and stripes to boot. - Alice Williams
