Les Atelier d’Artistes, (Studio of Artists), is one of charming galleries located on the main street of Lourmarin. It’s made up of twelve artists, three sculptors and eight painters, all French except moi. Besides manning the gallery once a month, we share some of the costs associated. It’s a wonderful location as Lourmarin attracts many tourists.
Sitting around for eight hours is not my cup of tea, so when it came to my turn, with the help of my very generous son-in-law, Curt, we set me up right in front of the gallery where I could paint the main street. It was a blast with all the tourists mulling about. Besides seeing all my Lourmarin friends, I had great subject matter, good light and lots of interest in what I was painting. Also, the gallery seemed to benefit with even more traffic.
