One of the hardest things for me in creating paintings is finding good subject matter that entices me. Well, this photo that my dear friend Caline sent me of her sister-in-law, Ariel, reading on a terrace during one of their vacations really spoke to me. Wow. It had everything… great subject matter, wonderful color, beautiful light. It was just a pleasure to paint.
